A
Agglomerate
Clusters of individual pigment particles, which can vary in size and shape. As these agglomerates are broken apart, dispersion improves and color value is increased. Agglomerates are sometimes able to be seen with the naked eye, or we can discern them under microscopic evaluation.

Antioxidant
An additive which inhibits oxidation and degradation of the polymer or plastic part during processing.

These agents are of major importance to the plastics industry because they extend the plastics useful processing range and service life. The variety of antioxidants available and their specific uses are extensive. These materials may be referred to as aging retardants or stabilizers.

Antistat
These additives serve to render the surface of the plastics less susceptible to accumulation of an electrostatic charge which attracts and holds fine dirt or dust. They are also used to reduce static build-up during air handling of blended feedstocks. Specific applications determine the type of antistat to be sourced; whether it must be used as a separate additive or can be incorporated into a multifunctional concentrate.
