If you don’t already know, manufacturing offers women a variety of career opportunities. As a result, women are found in every corner of our facilities. We are lucky to have had women as part of the Chroma Color Corporation workforce for many years. These women have contributed to our growth in many positive ways.
Today, numerous smart and focused women are on our operations, color lab, production, and sales teams. Here are just a few members of our team and their stories. We encourage all women to take a few minutes to read these stories to learn how manufacturing is a place where you are welcome, can contribute, and can learn and grow.
“I remember 19 years ago I was approached by a Hispanic woman who asked if I was interested on doing something different than retail. She talked to me for a few minutes about colors and that was all it took to get my full attention. It has being fascinating to learn how colors do play a significant role in our lives, our societies & in the business world. Technology in the 21st century has opened the doors for women to pursue new carriers. When I think back, I can honestly say I made the right choice when I decided to change my career.
My career with Chroma Color allows me to continue to grow professionally, gives me the opportunity to interact with people and encourages me to make use of my second language. Being bilingual in the workplace helps me to connect with customers on a deeper level. The ability to connect with a business partner in their native language helped me to remove barriers and establish long-lasting relationships. The most important advice I can provide to women in the workforce is when you are enjoying your job then you are at your best. — Estela Buff – Inside Sales Representative
My name is Kori Bouchard and I am a Customer Service Representative at Chroma Color. I started working at our Leominster facility in 2009. I found my way here because my mother, Karen, also works at Chroma Color. I started out filing color match requests, and doing price quotes for various customers. I soon wanted to learn something new so I started working in our sample department. I processed and shipped samples for about 8 years. I worked direct with our Director of Sales and helped with daily tasks.
In July of 2018, an opportunity presented itself for a customer service position and I quickly accepted my new role in the company. I have not turned back since. What keeps me excited about the industry is the way I can see our products on the shelves at stores, and can tell others “we produced the color concentrate for that!” It is exciting to see our products in stores! I am always looking to learn new things about this industry and make the customer experience better. –Kori Bouchard- Customer Service
I was very thankful to begin an internship with Chroma Color shortly following my graduation from Pfeiffer University in May of 2016. In January of 2017, I was offered a full time position at Chroma Color. The hands-on-experience in the analytical lab is something that I would not have been able to find anywhere else.
Chroma Color has helped me to learn more about the industry, make personal connections with our sales team, and grow as a Chemist. I work under a PhD chemist from Harvard University, Dr. Ron, who teaches me more about method development and lab techniques on a daily basis. I continue to grow more excited about our industry as our lab knowledge and capabilities expand.
